Day care (outpatient rehabilitation) is a long-term care insurance service where individuals visit a facility on a day-trip basis from their homes to receive rehabilitation from professionals, aiming to maintain and restore their daily living abilities. Its main purpose is to support individuals in continuing to live at home after illness or injury.

Differences from day care services

Day services primarily focus on supporting daily life activities such as meals, bathing, and recreation. Day care, on the other hand, focuses on maintaining and restoring physical function and daily living activities through rehabilitation provided by physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals.

How to use the service and what to bring

The process is as follows: ① Consult with a community comprehensive support center or care manager ② Get introduced to a day care center that suits you ③ Visit or try out the facility ④ Begin using the service. Please prepare a change of clothes, towel, indoor shoes, drinks, and any regular medications, and wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement during rehabilitation.

Front-opening undershirts, stretchy pants, and clothes that are dryer-safe are easy to handle for both the person receiving care and the staff assisting them.
