"I don't know what to choose," "There are so many options, I can't decide"—for times like these, we've compiled a "selection guide" that Setagaya Care often uses. Please use this not as a guide to find the right answer, but as a way to organize your thoughts and make decisions a little easier.
Five points to check
- How do you get dressed? The more assistance you need, the more useful front-opening clothes, large buttons, and Velcro fasteners are.
- How much arm movement is possible: If it's difficult to raise your arms, choose a front-opening type over a pullover type, and also check the width and elasticity of the cuffs.
- What is the laundry environment like? If you use a dryer, choose clothes that are dryer-safe.
- What are you currently concerned about? (e.g., your back is easily exposed, your pants fall down, your sleeves ride up, etc.)
- What are the individual's feelings? If they want to make their own choices, leave some room for them to be involved.
Even if you just send us the details you've checked via LINE, we can help you organize your thoughts and offer clothing suggestions. It's okay if you can't quite put your thoughts into words yet.
